Earthbound Mosaic

Description

Once, my truck broke down on the way home. Walking through the woods, I kept tripping over a line of rocks that looked like a makeshift path. I told myself maybe I’d find a treasure or a new way forward; instead I found attention—an ordinary moment that redirected how I see the world. That walk keeps returning in my work: the notion that a scatter of stones, when looked at closely, reveals order, history, and a kind of stubborn continuity.

My practice is driven by a refusal to let people and places remain unseen. The same care I bring to a weathered rock is the care I bring to people recovering from addiction, those who live on the margins, and anyone seeking shelter or protection. Guided by Christian convictions about restoration and compassion, these photographs present groundedness and resilience. They convey that humility and smallness can be sources of dignity and testimony.

Technically, I build narrative through framing, light, and restraint. I favor tight crops, muted earthy palettes, and natural light to reveal texture and relation. Sequencing and repetition allow subtle differences to speak—a rounded stone beside a fractured one, a small shadow that changes a surface. Beyond galleries, I pair projects with community conversations and resource connections so the work moves from image to practical support for recovery and shelter.
